Here we find the Chief bringing his rickety old vertical-boiled contraption to a halt at the milk shed. Clearly he's surprised to find himself under the watchful eye of Clifford -- better known as "Clipboard" (though never to his face). Not a regular, he comes in from town periodically, usually to perform some kind of audit for the perpetually disappointed DBR shareholders. Rumor has it Clifford's sour disposition has to do with the fact that he's just a bean counter, while his brother stars in Disney films.
