Since no one makes a reasonably priced "Critter" I decided to build my own. I found a slightly used Aristo-craft Lil' Critter on eBay for cheap that runs really good. I had some Sintra to work with but after looking things over, it didn't look like enough. I was checking the dumpster at work for hazardous waste (part of my job) and found a sign made out of a quarter sheet of 1/8" Sintra. I also found some real nice plastic angle stock in 3/16" and 1/4" to make the roof supports on eBay. I may try to reuse the hood on the Lil' Critter. The rest of the body went in the junk box. I also have a "Big Critter" kit coming and a Franklin Mint 1:12 scale tractor to strip for parts. I bought 2 up scaled LGB Dump cars from Carlo so I have some rolling stock. I'm having fun, learning by making mistakes, and perhaps I'll have something decent when I get through.
